You can work out independently at BigGym from the age of 14. Are you under 18? Then signing up for a membership is only possible with the consent of a parent or guardian.

Yes, at the end of your fixed contract, your membership is automatically renewed.
For a 1- or 2-year Unlimited, Daytime, or Together membership, it will then be converted to a 4-weekly cancellable membership. You can cancel it monthly at any time with a notice period of one full payment cycle.

You can work out at any BigGym location with your membership. Want to permanently switch to another location?

You are temporarily unable to work out due to illness or injury (maximum 3 payment cycles, with a doctor’s note).
You are doing an internship or studying abroad temporarily (with official confirmation from the school).
There is a mandatory gym closure imposed by the government.
In these cases, your membership will be temporarily paused and extended by the pause period.

For medical reasons, you can temporarily pause your membership for a maximum of 3 billing periods.
A valid medical certificate is always required for this.

If you move to a location more than 30 kilometers from a BigGym branch,
you can cancel your membership. You must provide this with an official registration document
from the new municipality. After approval, we may recalculate your fees and

Because BigGym collects payments every 4 weeks, collection dates do not always align exactly with your start date. Therefore, you pay the first part directly at registration via iDEAL. Afterwards, payments run automatically via direct debit every 4 weeks.

Inflation affects us all; unfortunately, it also affects our membership fees. Because our costs have risen, we were obliged to increase some rates as of 2024. In the Terms & Conditions, article 5.4, it states that we may adjust the rates once per year.

Contact our customer service as soon as possible if you are temporarily unable to pay. We are happy to help find a solution, for example a payment plan. This way, we prevent your membership from being terminated.

No, when you cancel your membership, you will not receive any fees back. Fees are always paid per billing period; remaining periods are not refunded. This is clearly stated in the Terms & Conditions.

Together Membership
For a Together membership, both members must deregister individually. If you have canceled but your workout partner has not, the membership continues on the account of the person with whom you took out the Together membership.
Your term has not yet ended
Do you have a 1- or 2-year membership? Then you must first complete the full term before your membership can actually end. Check the end date in your cancellation confirmation. Invoices will continue until that date.
The cancellation has not been processed correctly
Cancellation can only be done via the BigGym app. Check if you have received a cancellation confirmation. Without confirmation, the cancellation has not gone through.

For a Together membership, the membership is personal. This means that both members must deregister individually.

The automatic direct debit takes place every 4 weeks. We work with payment service provider Buckaroo for secure and efficient payment processing.

An outstanding amount is an amount you still need to pay to BigGym. This can, for example, be due to a failed direct debit, overdue fees, or additional costs such as cancellation fees.
