Become a Member & Get Started

You can work out independently at BigGym from the age of 14. If you are under 18, you can only sign up for a membership with the consent of a parent or guardian.

If you signed up for your membership through our website, you have the right to cancel it within 14 days. If you haven’t used the membership within these 14 days, cancellation is free of charge. If you have used the membership, BigGym will charge a prorated amount from the activation date to the day of cancellation, including any registration fees.

You can cancel your membership by filling out the cancellation form.

Yes, you can! At BigGym, you can choose the Unlimited Flex membership. This allows you to train unlimitedly without committing to a one-year contract.

Good to know: the Unlimited Flex membership always requires a minimum of 2 payment periods. In addition, there is a notice period of one payment period.

Absolutely! Whether you signed up online or at the desk of one of our locations, you can start right away. After signing up, you’ll receive an email with a link to create your Sportivity account. Then, you can download the BigGym app and log in with your new account. The app serves as your access pass to the gym!

Yes, you definitely can! Once you’re a member, you can work out at any BigGym location.

Of course, you’re always welcome! Our staff will gladly give you a tour so you can experience the atmosphere, facilities, and teams. No appointment is necessary.

Membership Types & Differences

BigGym offers a variety of memberships to suit your needs and situation:

  • Unlimited: train without limits, 7 days a week, with 24/7 access depending on the location.

  • Unlimited Flex: same as Unlimited, but with the option to cancel monthly for extra flexibility.

  • Daytime: work out on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with unlimited access on weekends.

  • Together: an affordable duo membership for two people living at the same address.

BigGym offers different memberships, each with its own benefits. Here’s a breakdown of the differences between Unlimited, Unlimited Flex, Daytime, and Together:

Unlimited
You have unlimited access to all BigGym clubs, all day long, 7 days a week. This membership has a fixed duration of 1 or 2 years and is then automatically renewed for an indefinite period (can be cancelled every 4 weeks).

Unlimited Flex
You have the same access as the Unlimited membership, but this membership can be canceled every 4 weeks. It’s designed for those who want more flexibility, for example, during temporary training or if you’re unsure about the long term.

Daytime
With this membership, you can work out on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You don’t have access in the evenings or on weekends. Like Unlimited, Daytime has a fixed term and renews automatically.

Together
This membership is shared with someone who lives at the same address (proof required). Both members have access under the Unlimited membership terms. One person is the primary payer; if a direct debit fails, the payment will be attempted from the other linked member.

Working out together is, of course, much more fun than alone. That’s why BigGym offers the Together membership. With this membership, you can work out together without limits and save money at the same time!

There are a few conditions that apply to the Together membership:

  • A maximum of 2 people can be registered under one Together membership.

  • Both people must live at the same address. This must be proven with a valid document, such as a letter from the tax authorities, a bank statement, or an insurance document.

When you have a Together membership at BigGym, you are always allowed to work out together at the same time. Because working out together is, of course, much more fun than doing it alone!

Besides working out together, you are of course also allowed to work out separately at any time. This way, you have the freedom to train whenever it suits you best, whether that’s together or on your own.

With a Daytime membership, you can work out unlimitedly from Monday to Friday between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. In addition, you can also train at BigGym all weekend without any time restrictions.

This makes the Daytime membership ideal for those who want to train flexibly during weekdays and on weekends.

At BigGym, “off-peak hours” refer to the times when you have access to the gym with a Daytime membership: from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The Daytime membership is ideal for those who like to work out during the day and provides access to all BigGym gyms. You can use the fitness facilities, group classes, and tanning bed without limits.

Would you like to try a workout or just train without any commitments? You can! With a Daypass, you can enjoy all our facilities for an entire day.

Membership rules & contracts

Yes, after your fixed-term contract ends, your membership is automatically renewed. For a 1- or 2-year Unlimited, Daytime, or Together membership, it is then converted into a membership that can be canceled every 4 weeks. After that, you can cancel at any time with a notice period of one full payment cycle.

Would you prefer to start a new 1- or 2-year membership? You can, of course, do this at the gym location.

Yes, you can, with no additional costs or changes. With your membership, you can work out at any BigGym location. If you want to regularly go to a different location, update your primary gym in the BigGym app so we can keep you informed about relevant news and promotions.

In some cases, this is possible, under strict conditions:

  • You are moving to an address more than 30 km away from a BigGym location (official proof required).

  • You are temporarily unable to exercise due to illness or injury (maximum of 3 billing periods, with a doctor’s note).

  • There is a mandatory government-ordered closure of the gym.

In these cases, your membership will be temporarily suspended and extended by the duration of the pause period. Please contact our customer service team to report your situation.

If you move to a location more than 30 kilometers away from a BigGym gym, you can freeze or cancel your membership. You must provide official proof of registration with the new municipality. Once approved, we may recalculate your membership fee and adjust your membership accordingly.

When you cancel your membership through the BigGym app, you will receive a confirmation email immediately. Without a confirmation, the cancellation is not complete. Always check your inbox to be sure.

The notice period is at least one full billing cycle (4 weeks). Your membership continues until the end of that period, after which it ends. Cancellations can only be made through the BigGym app.

No, cancellations can only be made through the BigGym app. Cancellations made by phone, email, chat, social media, or in person will not be processed.

Yes, after the initial contract period, you can extend or convert your membership. Converting to a different type of membership is usually only possible after your contract ends, unless it’s an upgrade; in that case, it takes effect immediately.

Upgrade & Modify

Absolutely! You can upgrade your membership at any time. The new start date will then be the beginning of the next billing period.

You can upgrade your membership at any time through the BigGym app or by contacting our customer service. The upgrade takes effect immediately, and your new membership replaces your current one. From that moment, the new terms, duration, and associated rate apply.

Your upgrade takes effect immediately from the moment you make it. So you can immediately start enjoying the benefits of your new membership. The new rate will apply from the next direct debit period.

No, once you have upgraded, you cannot revert to your old membership. You can change or downgrade again at a later time, but only after the agreed term of your current membership has ended.

Yes, you can convert your membership to a Together membership.
You must prove that you live at the same address as the other member, for example with an official document. The conversion takes place once your current contract ends, unless you are doing an upgrade, in which case the change takes effect immediately.

Yes, your membership is automatically renewed for an indefinite period after the initial contract term ends. After that, you can cancel the membership monthly with a notice period of one full billing cycle.

Membership Fees & Prices

BigGym applies competitive and transparent rates for all its memberships. The membership fee is automatically collected via direct debit every 4 weeks, so you always pay on time without any worries. For current rates and the full range of memberships, you can visit our rates page.

If you want to update your bank account number, send an email to klantenservice@biggym.nl with your name, current account number, and new account number. We will ensure the change is processed as quickly as possible.

Because BigGym collects payments every 4 weeks, the billing dates don’t always align exactly with your start date. That’s why you pay the first part of your membership fee directly at registration via iDEAL. After that, payments run automatically via direct debit every 4 weeks.

No, normally not. However, if you have not paid your membership fees or have paid late, we are unfortunately required to charge €10 in cancellation fees per failed direct debit and/or return.

Inflation affects us all, unfortunately including our membership fees. Because our costs have also increased, we are obliged to raise certain membership fees starting in 2024.

In our Terms and Conditions, Article 5.4, it states that we may adjust the rates once per year.

Get in touch with our customer service as soon as possible if you are temporarily unable to make payments. We are happy to work with you to find a solution, such as a payment plan, to prevent your membership from being suspended.

No, you will not receive a refund when cancelling your membership. The membership fee is always paid per collection period, and any remaining terms will not be refunded. This is also clearly stated in the general terms and conditions.

Direct Debit & Payment

The direct debit takes place every 4 weeks. From now on, we work with payment service provider Buckaroo to collect membership fees. This collaboration ensures secure, reliable, and efficient payment processing, so your membership is always paid on time without any worries.

The membership fee is debited every 4 weeks. This means that there are 13 direct debits per year for your membership fees.

If a direct debit fails, we will charge €10 in reversal fees. You will also receive a reminder to pay the outstanding amount as soon as possible.

If the direct debit was declined by your bank, please contact your bank and our customer service immediately to avoid additional charges.

No, it is not possible to change your direct debit date yourself. The membership fee is automatically debited every 4 weeks according to BigGym’s set schedule. If you have any questions, you can contact our customer service.

Outstanding Amounts & Payment Issues

An outstanding amount is an amount you still need to pay to BigGym. This can be due to a failed direct debit, overdue membership fees, or additional charges such as reversal fees.

A reminder means you still have an outstanding payment. Make sure to pay this amount as soon as possible to avoid issues such as access being blocked or additional fees.

You can easily pay outstanding amounts via the BigGym app.
Log in, go to your overview, and complete your payment quickly and securely directly from the app.

If we are unable to collect the payment, you will receive an email from us regarding the outstanding amount. At the bottom of the email, it clearly states which period the amount covers.

In the new BigGym app, you can find an overview of your outstanding amounts and pay them directly.

If you do not pay an outstanding amount, your access to BigGym may be blocked. In addition, extra fees may be charged, such as reversal fees or collection costs. It is important to contact us if you are experiencing payment difficulties so that we can find a solution together.

At all BigGym locations, you can use lockers free of charge. To lock them, you need a BigGym combination lock. This can be purchased once at the front desk for €10.

Yes, in all our gyms we play motivating music to give you an extra boost during your workout. Of course, you are also free to listen to your own music with earphones or headphones. This way, you can work out exactly the way that suits you best.
In every BigGym location, a special area is designated for stretching and abdominal exercises. Here you’ll find mats, foam rollers, and sometimes light training equipment such as resistance bands or small weights. This space is perfect for your warm-up, cool-down, or strengthening your core.
