BigGym processes personal data. According to the GDPR, personal data is “any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“data subject”).” This means all data that can be traced back to you.
Data from our (potential) members
When you sign up for a BigGym membership, we process your name, address, place of residence, date of birth, bank account number, telephone number, and email address.
Even if you already have a BigGym membership, we continue to process this type of personal data. For example, every time you visit our gym or when you contact us by phone or email.
Data from our website visitors
Personal data is also processed for every visitor to our website. This may include personal data you enter on the website itself, such as your email address, name, home or work address, or telephone number.
Surfing and clicking behavior
We also collect information about your visit to our website. This primarily concerns data that your browser sends by default to every website you visit, such as your IP address. Email communication to (former) members
BigGym uses the email addresses of current and former members to inform them about similar services, promotions, and offers from BigGym. The processing of this data is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6, paragraph 1, subparagraph f GDPR), namely maintaining customer relationships and offering similar products and services.
Every email contains a clear unsubscribe link, allowing you to unsubscribe at any time.

BigGym retains email addresses of former members for a maximum of 24 months after termination of membership, unless you unsubscribe sooner.

Services
Without processing your personal data, BigGym cannot provide its services to you.
For example, we cannot create a membership account, which means you cannot gain access to a BigGym location.
Or if you asked us a question, we can’t answer it.
When granting access to BigGym, an image of the member in question is visually displayed when the pass is scanned.
BigGym cannot rule out that the image in question, intended for the counter employee, is visible to bystanders while the pass is being scanned.
BigGym works with partners, for example to offer our services or to collect outstanding invoices.
We may therefore provide your personal data to these partners.
We require our partners to at least comply with the Personal Data Protection Act.
They must handle your personal data with care and are prohibited from using your data for anything other than that for which it was provided to them.
Legal obligation
BigGym may be obliged by law or regulation to process your personal data and/or provide it to third parties.
For example, when a competent authority such as the police requests this in the context of a criminal investigation.
Marketing and sales activities
BigGym may process your personal data for marketing and sales activities (even after termination of your membership) for the benefit of its own services or those of companies affiliated with BigGym.

If you have a BigGym membership, we will store your data at least for the duration of your membership.
Depending on your browser settings, temporary cookies are deleted shortly after your visit.
Inspection
All members have the right to access their personal data.
You can, of course, ask your gym what information they have registered about you.
If this is not sufficient for you, you can submit a request for access by sending a letter to BigGym, Postbus 102, 1960 AC Heemskerk, stating “request for access” and including your name, address, landline and/or mobile telephone number and a copy of a valid ID.
Correction
All members also have the right to have their personal data corrected if it is inaccurate. You can also have this done at your branch.
If for any reason this is not possible, you can send a letter to the aforementioned address stating “correction request” and including your name, address, landline and/or mobile phone number and a copy of a valid ID. We will provide a written response within 4 weeks.
Objection
If your personal data is used for purposes other than those necessary for the performance of an agreement or to comply with a legal obligation, you can object to that use. You can therefore object in particular to the use of your data for commercial purposes, such as direct marketing activities, as well as the provision of your data to third parties for the same direct marketing purposes.
This is even possible if you have previously given permission for that use.
